Freedom and Entrepreneurship Foundation, Katowice Club of Austrian School of Economics, KoLiber Association and Corporate Law Association of Silesian University are proud to invite you to a meeting with Dr. Tom G. Palmer and Matthew Tyrmand.
The meeting will take place in aula 7 of the Law Faculty (Bankowa St. 11b, Katowice) on Wednesday, 11th December at 6 PM.
Dr. Palmer is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and a popular free market activist. He has published reviews and articles in journals such as Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, New York Times and Washington Post.
He lectures frequently on political science, legal, moral and historical foundations of individual rights.
Dr. Palmer will give a lecture titled ‚Why Liberty’ and the first 50 people will be given his books – there will be a possibility to get the autograph.
Matthew Tyrmand comes from New York. A graduate of Chicago University and the independent business consultant with a large experience as Wall Street hedge fund portfolio manager will introduce us to the secrets of the largest stock exchange in the world, giving a lecture titled: „Cronyism: unity of big government and big business, seen from the Wall Street investor perspective”. Matthew is an author of the book ‚Jestem Tyrmand, syn Leopolda’, he recently gave a number of interviews to Polish media (Gazeta Wyborcza, Gazeta Prawna, Onet.pl, Xięgarnia and others).
The meeting is open – you do not have to register or pay.

Dr Palmer jest założycielem Cato Institute i popularnym aktywistą wolnościowym, komentatorem w Fox News, publicystą m.in. Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, New York Times i Washington Post. Wykłada regularnie na temat nauk o polityce, a także prawnych, moralnych i historycznych podstaw indywidualnych praw człowieka.
Wystąpi u nas z wykładem „Why liberty”, a pierwszym 50 osobom rozdamy jego książki.
Nowojorczyk Matthew Tyrmand jest w Polsce znany m.in. jako syn pisarza Leopolda Tyrmanda, któremu poświęcił książkę „Jestem Tyrmand, syn Leopolda”. Jest absolwentem University of Chicago i niezależnym konsultantem biznesowym. Zebrał doświadczenie jako makler na Wall Street. W ostatnim czasie udzielił serii wywiadów dla polskich czasopism i portali internetowych (Gazety Wyborczej, Gazety Prawnej, Onet.pl, Xiegarnia i innych).
Przedstawi wykład pt. „Cronyism: unity of big government and big business, seen from the Wall Street investor perspective”, czyli zajmiemy się spółkami giełdowymi w praktyce zawodowej i tym jak wielcy gracze współdziałają z rządem.
Oba wykłady odbędą się w języku angielskim. Spotkanie jest otwarte – bez opłaty i rejestracji.
